Reflection Zero

Reflection Zero is a performance in which a barefooted woman in a black dress pours the contents of a black bucket onto the sidewalk. She then steps into the ash until her feet reaches the bottom. The ash flies in all directions and the woman sews a red ribbon onto her neck. A viewer is asked to hold the other end of the ribbon.

The woman walks slowly backwards rewinding the ribbon from its roll. They cross the road. At the arrival to the steps of Escalier Gare de Marseille-Saint-Charles, she cuts the ribbon and pulls a heavy sack of salt up the stairs. At the top of the steps she then pours the salt out of the sack and sets a metronome in motion. She pulls a black stocking mask over her head and scratches her arms until they bleed. She then spreads out both arms, staying in this position until the metronome stops.
